Timothy B. Terriberry
Biography
Dr. Timothy B. Terriberry has volunteered for the Xiph.Org Foundation---a non-profit organization that develops free, open multimedia protocols and software---since 2002, and has worked for the Mozilla Corporation in various capacities since 2008. In addition to leading Mozilla's efforts to contribute to the Alliance for Open Media, he runs the Daala project, was the lead developer of the Theora video codec, was one of the developers of the Opus audio codec, and has helped maintain most of Xiph's other codecs. Timothy received dual B.S. and M.S. degrees from Virginia Tech in 1999 and 2001, respectively, in both Mathematics and Computer Science, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of North Carlina at Chapel Hill in 2006.
