Which ticket?

Fairy Penguin Sponsor

The Fairy Penguin sponsorship is designed for those who wish to attend linux.conf.au 2017 as a Professional Delegate, as well as supporting the conference by contributing financially. In recognition of this support, the Fairy Penguin sponsors’ logos and links are published on the Sponsors page, and will be acknowledged during conference plenaries.

You can become a Fairy Penguin sponsor by selecting the "Fairy Penguin" ticket option. See our sponsors page or e-mail sponsorship@hobart.lca2017.org for more information.

Professional

The Professional ticket is our all-access pass to the conference. This rate applies to most people who have their companies pay the conference fees and charge it as a professional development expense, or for individuals who can legitimately claim it is a tax deduction.

The benefits of a Professional registration include extra professional networking opportunities through attendance at the Opening Reception and Networking Breakfast (PDNS), and a complimentary ticket to the Penguin Dinner.

Hobbyist

The Hobbyist rate is heavily discounted for Free and Open Source Software enthusiasts who are paying out of their own pockets and would otherwise find it difficult to attend.

Tickets to the Penguin Dinner are available for an additional fee.

Student

This rate is reserved for secondary or tertiary students. linux.conf.au offers this rate as a form of investment in the future of the Free and Open Source Software community.

When you arrive at linux.conf.au 2017, a valid student ID card or proof of enrolment must be presented to the onsite check-in desk. Any Student who cannot provide this will be required to pay the difference in fees between the Student rate and the Hobbyist rate.

Volunteers

linux.conf.au would not be as successful as it is without having a dedicated team of volunteers to help run the conference. If you're interested in spending the week of linux.conf.au 2017 helping run the conference, please apply to be a volunteer.

Information on how to register to become a volunteer will be available soon.

Financial Assistance

linux.conf.au 2017, with thanks to GitHub, is running an Outreach and Inclusion Programme, providing financial assistance for people who could not otherwise attend. More information about financial assistance at linux.conf.au 2017 can be found on our assistance grants page.

Media

There are a limited number of Media Passes available to media personnel. Media Passes are free of charge, and entitle media personnel to attend linux.conf.au 2017 with all the entitlements of a Professional ticket. Please note, due to the limited numbers of Media Passes available, all Media Passes need to be approved by the linux.conf.au 2017 organisers.

To apply for a Media Pass, please contact team@hobart.lca2017.org.

Partners' Programme and Childcare

This year, due to limited time and resources, linux.conf.au 2017 have decided not to run a Partners' Programme. The organisers are happy to provide interested partners with a mailing list and wiki space but will not be directly involved in planning events for partners.

Complimentary childcare is available on-site at our conference venue at Wrest Point. More information is available on our childcare page. Our childcare programme is sponsored by GitHub.
