Notes here are a summary from [the end session recap video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXITFkxslhU).

* Fundraising & their different experiences
* Setting up communities with the right support
* In many examples people don't ask for funding, which makes it hard to give it to them
* If you ask, be aware of the timeframes, esp w/larger organisations & governments
* It's easier to fund events than projects
* Is there an issue, morally, where you acquire funds?
* Explore different communication routes for asking for money
* Be confident when asking. Don't be entitled.
* When asking, have a clear outline of the costs which it will cover
* It's difficult for organisations to fund events which have swear words in the name
* Tailor your request to the company or org
* If there are sponsorship request instructions, please follow them
* To do when applying
    * Learn how to invoice
    * Know the timeframes
    * Know how the tax year (inclusive/exclusive) works
    * Tailor the proposals
    * Make it easy for companies to pay you
    * Wait until you have complete event/project details before requesting funding (looks less dodgy)
    * Clarify renewals: don't automatically invoice people (it understandably pisses them off)
    * Make your proposal simple & readable
